Hockey Stick Display Options

Here are a few different options for anyone looking for hockey stick display options.

So, you have just come home from a game and you are lucky enough to have received a game used hockey stick from one of your favourite players.  Now you have to decide on a method of hockey stick display.

Option 1

Probably the easiest but definitely not the most aesthetic would be to pound a couple of broad head nails into the wall and just let the stick rest on top of the nails.  This definitely serves the purpose but you risk possibly damaging the stick and as mentioned before, the look leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Option 2

I have come across a couple of different products specifically made for hockey stick display.  My favourite so far is made by a company called Breakaway Displays.  As a side note, Breakaway Displays is in no way affiliated with Breakaway Authentics.  These hockey stick mounts come in packs of 2, are very easy to install and are very nearly invisible.

My only concern with these mounting devices is that I have come across some sticks that are too wide for use with these mounts.  They seem to work for displaying the majority of hockey sticks but to be sure, I would recommend taking measurements of the stick width prior to ordering.  The Breakaway Displays website can be found here: http://www.breakawaydisplays.com/

Option 3

Now, what if you were lucky enough to have a game used hockey stick from the likes of Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky or your favourite player and you don’t want that stick to be hanging on the wall and exposed?  By far the best looking, not to mention the most expensive option would be to have the stick professionally framed.  The different variations for this option are nearly limitless.  You could have just the stick framed or go so far as having the stick framed with a photo of the player, a team puck and possibly even team hockey gloves.
